  • The birth of Tongkun (1981-1990)

    In 1981, following the trend of reform, it benefited the country's economy and people's livelihood.Tongxiang County Chemical Fiber Factory, the predecessor of Tongkun Group, was officially established.

  • Market transformation (1991-1994)

    In 1992, the leaders of Tongxiang County Chemical Fiber Factory, headed by Chen Shiliang, straightened out their development ideas and “borrowed a ship to go to sea” to start the market transformation from polypropylene to polyester, laying the foundation for the future development of Tongkun.

  • Rapid Rise (1995-1996)

    In 1995, Tongkun completed the leap of production technology from conventional spinning to high-speed spinning, and the total economic volume of the enterprise jumped to the first place in Tongxiang.

    In 1997, Tongkun bucked the trend in the Asian financial crisis and completed a series of large-scale expansion with the advantage of low cost, and the production of polyester filaments jumped to the first place in mainland China.

  • Integration with international standards (1999-2007)

    In 1999, Tongkun set out to upgrade the process from slice spinning to melt straight spinning, prepared to build "Tongkun*China Chemical Fiber City" and completed the joint-stock reform, officially changed its name to "Tongkun Group", and went to the world with a modern corporate image.

  • Growth against the trend

    At the moment of the outbreak of the global financial crisis, Tongkun used a unique strategic vision to build the 400,000-ton melt straight spinning project with the largest single-line production capacity in the world at that time, and introduced an excellent performance management model. After the project was put into operation, the group's production capacity jumped to the top of the global polyester filament industry in one fell swoop.

  • Enter the upstream (2011-2015)

    In May 2011, Tongkun completed its listing on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, and used the power of capital to enter the petrochemical industry for the first time. The listing and investment project Jiaxing Petrochemical was put into operation the following year.In July 2014, when Governor Li Qiang went to Tongkun for research, he first proposed to encourage private enterprises to enter the upstream refining and chemical industry, thus opening the prelude for Tongkun to participate in the construction of Zhejiang Petrochemical's 40 million tons/year refining and chemical integration project.
